Sokcho Tourist & Fish Market
Sokcho's signature traditional market, bringing together seafood fresh from the East Sea, specialties of Gangwon's Yeongdong region, and famous local eats such as dakgangjeong (sweet & crispy fried chicken) and sundae (Korean sausage) under one roof. Named one of Korea's top 10 tourist markets, it draws crowds of travelers and is a must on any Sokcho–Goseong itinerary.

Good-to-know tips
- Dakgangjeong doesn't change much in taste even when cold, so many people buy it on the last day of their trip. Each shop has its own sauce, so comparing two or three is part of the fun.
- Choose your fish at the basement live fish center and it will be prepared on the spot. Prices vary by weight and preparation, so ask before ordering.
- Vouchers are based on purchase amount, so if you buy from several shops, check whether each shop will give you one.
- Parking lots and popular shops get crowded on weekends and holidays. Going in the morning or taking a city bus is easier.
